The project, which has been named Cranbrook, is situated at Pembury Road, Langney in Eastbourne and consists of 62 one and two bedroom extra care apartments.  The scheme was designed and built to make life easier for over 60s with care needs who want to remain independent in their own homes, the development ensures that residents' housing, social and healthcare needs are met within private apartments, supported by a professional care team on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The £10 million development, which received a £6 million grant from the Homes and Community Agency, was constructed on behalf of Eastbourne Borough Council, East Sussex County Council and Housing Association Saxon Weald, who will own and manage the scheme when complete.
