In May 2001, Home Group were chosen by the London Borough of Harrow as their preferred partner for the redevelopment of Rayners Lane Estate. Following extensive consultation, residents voted strongly in favour of transferring their homes to the Home Group. Subsequently, calfordseaden were appointed as employer?s agent, cost consultant and CDM co-ordinator on the redevelopment, which includes the phased demolition of 500 properties and the construction of 790 new houses and apartments. The first of the new homes were completed and handed over in April 2004, with further phases currently ongoing.

One of the most important aspects of this scheme is the new ?2.7 million community centre, which includes a large flexible multi-purpose hall that can be used for a variety of sports, leisure, cultural and community activities. A recreational space for teenagers is also being provided as part of the estate's regeneration.
