New extra care scheme underway in Reading

calfordseaden is working on a new extra care housing scheme in Reading, providing employer’s agent, cost consultant and quality control services.

The new build development called Beechwood Grove is being constructed in partnership with A2 Dominion and contractors Feltham Construction on the site of former Arthur Clark Residential Home and Albert Road Day Care Centre in Caversham, Reading. Demolition work began in February of this year and the building is set to take shape in the coming weeks.

The new build development will provide residents with as much independence as possible, whilst still providing essential care and support services on site. The new development consists of 43 flats, 16 of which are for rent, and provides residents with communal facilities and activities including music workshops, arts and crafts and exercise classes, all of which are open to older people living in the local area also.
