Plan Compliance

calfordseaden are at the forefront of affordable housing design. We have fully embraced various forms of Modern Methods of Construction, with our original involvement commencing in 1997 through our work with the Timber Dwelling Project and then subsequently the Amphion Consortium. In recent years, we have worked with various manufacturers, contractors and developers to design a range of standard affordable housing templates, including those approved by the Housing Corporation.

Standard home plans that meet the Housing Corporation's new Design and Quality Standards (2008) are termed 'plan compliant'. 

Plan compliance certifies that home plans accord with the minimum requirements as set out in the Corporation's Design and Quality Standards in respect of dwelling size and layout only (HQI unit size and unit layout)

Where compliant plans are used, the individual internal unit layouts will be deemed to satisfy the spatial and layout aspects of the Corporation's Design and Quality Standards for audit purposes.
